Dive into the urban life of Zurich West

From industrial area to trendy district: Zürich-West offers everything that makes the heart of city dwellers beat faster. Stroll through the arches of Viadukt, enjoy a drink in Frau Gerolds Garten, discover the great culinary and cultural selection or turn night into day.

The former industrial district Zurich-West is now considered one of the urban centers of the city of Zurich. Striking buildings such as the Prime Tower, popular meeting spots like “Frau Gerolds Garten” with restaurants, bars, a market and boutiques, or Josefswiese, as well as shopping opportunities in the Freitag Tower or in Im Viadukt and a wide range of cultural and culinary offerings – Zurich-West never sleeps.

Shopping, delicacies and culture combined

The heart of the quarter is the former railway viaduct , which today offers space for shopping, gastronomy and cultural venues in its arches. The market hall offers a colourful selection of fresh produce, specialties from the region and culinary delicacies that make the heart of gourmets beat faster. While several boutiques sell fashion or home accessories, the wide range of offers is complemented by various cultural facilities: after a day full of sensations, you can let off steam with sports or enjoy a concert in the Bogen F .

Experience Zurich in all its facets

The Prime Tower is arguably the most striking building in Zurich West: the office tower has become one of Zurich's landmarks with its eye-catching glass façade. On the 35th floor of the building, you can enjoy a drink in the Clouds restaurant and admire the city from above. But the Zurich West district also includes creative hotspots, such as the imposing hall in the Schiffbau or the Toni-Areal with its Museum of Design . In other words, the district has something to offer to everybody's taste.

Insider Spots by the Water

Located directly by the river, the restaurant-bar-club concept “Haus am Fluss” or the “Tanzhaus” with its stylish Café Nude are perfect places for relaxed sunset aperitifs. Just a few steps away lies the river bath Unterer Letten : a public bathing area by day, it transforms into an open-air bar every Tuesday evening and into an open-air cinema during the summer months.
